After several years of being working closely with Contemporary Artist Leah Porter, she came to the point to start gathering all of his work in a special edition Book, and I am lucky to say that I’m proud that she invited me to be part of it.
Ive been working closely with Leah Porter, I have designed her website since 2009, and we ve collaborating also in her Art gallery Casa Dahlia, where she mainly exposes her own work along other 6 local artists from baja.
Thanks to this collaboration, i’ve been able to have all the photographic record of her work, dating since 2006 until now (2021). So in 2011 on her birthday, i decided to design and give her as a gift a book that contained all her work from 2006 upt to date. From that moment i believed this was something important to be made for such a successful and creative artist and also to help keep record of her beautiful an amazing work, so then in 2011 I developed this PErsonal edition for her and her family members, so she love it!….
Since then the idea of making a large print and commercial version was born, but as she called it fro that moment, she considered it will be to early to do the edition. Because in the future we will be able to do it once she have more work to show, so she was absolutely right and the project was in a “slow cooking process” since then…
Finally in 2020 after the pandemic and the shut down of the whole world, Leah finally had a time to think about this Idea, she told me that she had long time wanting to do the book, and that she was thinking that this was the right time to start working on it and make possible the First Part and First Commercial edition of this book!….
I have to confess that i was (and I am, thrilled) by her desition to do this beautiful project. To me this project is very close to me, because im not only helping to honor her and her work as an amazing artist, is also an opportunity to be able to create something physical, after of SO MANY YEARS of being working on digital projects and as a book lover, for me this is a dream project , So im very happy and THANKFUL WITH LEAH PORTER for give me the opportunity to be able to work with her all this years, and for make part of Casa Dahlia but mostly for always trust in me and give me the opportunity to do this beautiful book!
